Sweden buys drones from Poland to strengthen military support for Ukraine (X @front_ukrainian)
Sweden has announced that it will purchase drones from Poland to transfer them to Ukraine as part of a new military aid package.
The decision was announced after Swedish Defense Minister Paul Johnson visited the manufacturer WB Group, highlighting the company’s innovation and the need to balance the weapons purchase relationship between the two countries. However, the models of drones and the values involved have not yet been revealed.
Ukrainian military forces already use Polish drones such as the Warmate (attack) and FlyEye (reconnaissance), both made by WB Group. In 2024, the company introduced the new Warmate 50 model, designed for long-range missions, which could indicate an intention to expand this type of support to Ukraine amid the ongoing conflict.
Additionally, Sweden has allocated more than $7.9 million to coalitions focused on drone use and mine removal, as part of a larger military assistance package for Ukraine. Valued at around $1.22 billion, this is the largest support Sweden has provided since the beginning of the Russian invasion.
